How to create a training plan?

The best part of LeCoach are definitely our training plans. There are lots of ai coaches out there, but building a truly personal and most of all high-quality training plan is actually really hard to do. So we're proud to say that LeCoach has really nailed this part.

To create a training plan, click Create Plan at the top of your agenda. The setup walks you through six short steps:

    1. Goal — choose a Regular Training Plan or a plan for an event/race, pick your sport (cycling, running or mixed), set the start date, and describe your goal. For event plans you enter the event date, name, distance and elevation.

    2. Availability — weekly hours to start with, your weekly hours target, and your maximum hours per training day (per weekday). Optionally mark which days should carry the long, endurance or hard sessions — and for mixed plans, which days are for the bike, the run or both.

    3. Training — ramp rate, training structure (endurance base, sweet spot, pyramidal, polarized or extremely polarized), workout variation, and your limits: maximum consecutive training days and maximum hard days in a row. 'LeCoach decides' is a fine default everywhere.

    4. Recovery & deload — recovery week frequency and volume reduction; for event plans also the taper length and taper volume reduction.

    5. Specials & tests (cycling) — include torque work (low cadence), high-cadence work, an FTP ramp test, or max-effort tests.

    6. Limitations & preferences — workouts you like or dislike, limitations, anything else the coach should know. You choose whether LeCoach remembers each item until the plan ends or permanently.

    Plan length: maximum 20 weeks

A plan can be at most 20 weeks long. If your event is further away, create a regular plan first and a follow-up plan toward the event later — LeCoach will suggest this automatically.

    The blueprint

After the intake LeCoach builds your plan blueprint: a summary of your inputs, the periodization scheme and your weekly pattern. You can drag workout types between days, add special tags, adjust per-day hours and chat with LeCoach to refine it. Multiple workout types on one day means those types alternate week by week.

    Generate the full plan

Press Generate Full Plan. LeCoach creates every week and every workout of the plan up front and puts them in your agenda — nothing is held back or generated later. Everything syncs to Intervals.icu and your devices, and you can edit any of it afterwards.
