Until now, LeCoach mostly coached when you asked. From this week it also looks after your training plan between conversations, the way a coach would. It's adaptive training, but it asks first. Small, safe fixes happen overnight and can be undone with one tap. When today needs a decision, your daily report asks. And every Monday a new weekly roundup shows how your week went and asks you about anything that keeps coming up. We're rolling it out to all athletes over the coming weeks.
Why we built it this way
We believe the best training plan is structured and adaptive. A training plan that reshuffles itself every time your HRV dips loses its rhythm, and you stop trusting it. A training plan that never changes ignores your life. So LeCoach only changes small, well-understood things by itself, and asks you about the rest.
Small fixes, made overnight
A few simple rules run while you sleep. They only touch LeCoach's own workouts:
Skipped a hard session and your hard work for the week fell short? Your next session of that kind gets 1% easier instead of harder.
Form heading for a deep fatigue dip? The sessions around it get a few reps less, at the same intensity.
Missed sessions turned your build week into a recovery week? Your next planned recovery week becomes a normal training week.
Logged a sick day? The workouts on those days are removed, and the chat opens so you can rearrange the week.
Every change is marked Adjusted and has an Undo button. Undo it once and LeCoach won't make that change again. Your regular group rides, your races and anything you changed yourself in the last 7 days are never touched.
Your daily report asks when today needs a decision
Poor recovery and a hard session planned: you get four choices, with LeCoach's suggestion first. Slightly easier, an endurance ride, a rest day, or leave it.
Low recovery for two days or more: "Not feeling well?" I'm sick clears today's workouts. Just tired makes today's session a little easier.
The first day after being sick: "How do you feel?" Your answer decides how you ease back in.
A missed session: up to four ways to catch up, or let it go. Nothing moves until you tap.
The weekly roundup
Every Monday morning you get your roundup in the app, in the chat and by email. It replaces the weekly review and shows what you did against the training plan, your wins (including Engine level-ups), what LeCoach adjusted, and your week ahead.
When something needs your input, it asks at most 3 questions. Your key sessions keep landing too hard or get missed. Your weeks are lighter than the training plan. Your recovery has been low for a while. Your easy rides keep turning into tempo. Your FTP looks set too high. A habit rarely gets ticked off.
Numbers tell LeCoach what happened. Your answers tell it why. A missed session can mean a busy week, the wrong day, that you got sick or a training plan that's too hard, and each needs a different fix. Your answers adjust the training plan, bigger changes come as a proposal in the chat, and if you don't answer, nothing changes.
After your first week on a new training plan, the roundup checks in on difficulty, schedule and variety. It does a short check-in at the end of every training block too.
How was the workout?
After every planned workout LeCoach now asks: too easy, just right or too hard? Your answer counts for more than the numbers when LeCoach looks at how your sessions are going, and it helps set the difficulty of your next training plan.
Plan Health and coach notes
Your Plan Health page now shows your score with your roundup underneath, instead of a list of warnings. Coach notes in Analytics show your recent wins and opportunities, like "A hard effort could refresh your FTP", and your daily report includes a coach note of the day.
